17th amendment "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures." Meaning: This amendment basically provides two senators for each by popular vote in every state. This picture was perfect to describe the 17th amendment and shows us that no matter who you are your vote counts...or does it? This video does a great job of explaining this amendment, reminded me a little bit like crash course!

16th amendment: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." Meaning:  This amendment means, the United States allows the United States to collect taxes from U.S. citizens to fix bridges, fix roads, and other government needs. This picture was funny because the IRS are kind of bullies but, they come around when you don't pay your taxes. This picture was also funny because that's pretty much all the Uncle Sam wants is your money!:0

15th amendment: "The United States Constitution prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude". Meaning: The amendment states guaranteed equal voting rights for African American men, since at one point black men weren't allowed to vote. I liked this picture because it shows that no matter what color or race if you are any U.S. citizen you should be able to vote! This picture shows the 15th amendment into action of African American men finally able to vote during early times!

14th amendment "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." Meaning: In simpler terms, the amendment means every citizen in the United States is guaranteed equal protection and due process. I chose this because it gives a great explanation of equal protection and the 14th amendment in general. Short, sweet, and to the point. This picture also has a thousand words, the caption got me interested in the picture and how we can have equality within the races.

13th Amendment:)) "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." Meaning: The amendment in simpler terms means no one in the United States can be a slave unless for punishment with the jails for community service. I chose this picture because it shows that now we as American people are free from slavery, it shouldn't go on anymore. This picture means a lot that is why I chose it, it shows that after hundreds of years African slaves were finally free. This picture speaks a thousand words.

2nd media post for 1-12 amendments (had absolutely no idea we had to do two until now) 1st amendment: I  chose this picture because it was cute and shows all of our rights as Americans! 2nd amendment: I chose this picture because it pretty much symbolizes the 2nd amendment with the gun as the right to bear arms. 3rd amendment: : this picture symbolizes the amendment straightforward of soliders not going into someone's home. 4th amendment: I chose this image because of the irony in it. The fourth amendment is stating that you cannot carry out any searches or seizures and they are doing this now. 5th amendment: This image was kind of funny, the fifth amendment is in all honesty the right to not say anything pretty much!. 6th amendment: This was also a funny image too because this amendment states you have the right to a speedy trial but he tells the man to hang tight, stating its going to take a while for the trial to get started. 7th amendment: Thi
