21st amendment!! "The 18th article of the amendment Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed." Meaning: The people of the United States were able to drink and alcohol was not illegal. This was in effect in January 16th 1919. I chose this picture because it shows how big of a deal this amendment was for people, I guess people do like to drink then and now! This picture was cute, it shows how happy people are about alcohol to have a trunk that sales it!

20th amendment "The Twentieth Amendment to the United States Constitution moved the beginning and ending of the terms of the president and vice president from March 4 to January 20, and of members of Congress from March 4 to January 3. " Meaning: This amendment basically sets dates at which federal government elected offices, this amendment also tells us who takes the place of the president if he dies in office which would be the vice president. I chose this picture because it was cute and sums the 20th amendment with cartoon characters! I chose this video because it went into detail about the 20th amendment along with lam-duck which made me understand the term more.

19th amendment "The right of citizens to vote "shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." Meaning: This amendment, is giving the women the right to vote and I was very important at that time. Ever citizen should have the right to vote whether male of female. I chose this picture because it showed what women had to go through to even get this amendment in place, it took a lot for people to see women as an equal with men. This picture speaks a lot of volume this shows the anniversary of women joining the work force and being able to vote placed in 1920.

18th amendment "The United States Constitution effectively established the prohibition of alcoholic beverages in the United States by declaring the production, transport, and sale of alcohol illegal." Meaning: This amendment was developed in the 1900s to basically prohibit or not sell alcohol and if anyone did it was illegal at that time and you would probably get jail time or have your establishment shut down. I chose thi s picture because it sums up what the amendment is by showing an alcoholic beverage with a banned signed over it. I chose this second picture because it shows the people of the united states fighting for what they want which is all through American history. With their protesting, this amendment is somewhat gone alcohol isn't illegal but you just have to be 21.

17th amendment "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures." Meaning: This amendment basically provides two senators for each by popular vote in every state. This picture was perfect to describe the 17th amendment and shows us that no matter who you are your vote counts...or does it? This video does a great job of explaining this amendment, reminded me a little bit like crash course!

16th amendment: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." Meaning: This amendment means, the United States allows the United States to collect taxes from U.S. citizens to fix bridges, fix roads, and other government needs. This picture was funny because the IRS are kind of bullies but, they come around when you don't pay your taxes. This picture was also funny because that's pretty much all the Uncle Sam wants is your money!:0
