21st amendment!!

"The 18th article of the amendment Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed."

Meaning: The people of the United States were able to drink and alcohol was not illegal. This was in effect in January 16th 1919.

I chose this picture because it shows how big of a deal this amendment was for people, I guess people do like to drink then and now!

TWENTY-SIXTH AMENDMENT!! "The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age." " The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."  Meaning:  This amendment states that those who are 18 and older can vote and shouldn't be denied because of their age! 22nd amendment!!;) "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.' Meaning: This amendment just states the amount of terms our president can have as well as our vice president, they created this amendment to prevent having just one ruler like a king or queen. This picture was humorous it shows uncle Sam with a watch letting our presidents know that time is up for their term! I chose this picture because its interesting to see peoples opinions out of this amendment it shows that some people do not want a third term, they want someone new with new ideas. They are also insinuating that no one can have good ideas and get the interests of everyone forever, its almost as if we need new people to run up! ...

AMENDMENT IX!!! The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. Meaning: This amendment states and notifies people that there are other rights that doe exists from ones that are mentioned more explicitly, and even though these hidden laws are not listed does not mean that they are to be violated because they are laws and rights given to the people. In other words, doesn't mean its not listed doesn't been its not a law or right, sometimes you have to read between the lines. T his picture was interesting and shows that even though something doesn't directly say something doesn't mean you can't do it. This was a great example of the 9th amendment in my opinion.
