18th amendment


"The United States Constitution effectively established the prohibition of alcoholic beverages in the United States by declaring the production, transport, and sale of alcohol illegal."

Meaning: This amendment was developed in the 1900s to basically prohibit or not sell alcohol and if anyone did it was illegal at that time and you would probably get jail time or have your establishment shut down.

I chose this picture because it sums up what the amendment is by showing an alcoholic beverage with a banned signed over it.

I chose this second picture because it shows the people of the united states fighting for what they want which is all through American history. With their protesting, this amendment is somewhat gone alcohol isn't illegal but you just have to be 21.

TWENTY-SEVENTH AMENDMENT:) " No law varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives shall take effect until an election of Representatives shall have intervened." Meaning: This amendment states that those in Congress can't themselves a pay raise this also deals with the decrease in pay wages. TWENTY-SIXTH AMENDMENT!! "The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age." " The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."  Meaning:  This amendment states that those who are 18 and older can vote and shouldn't be denied because of their age! This image was cute and just shows the pride of those that are 18 and happy to vote and make a difference!
